Shane J. Egan joined Cappillino Rothschild & Egan in 2011.
Mr. Egan's practice is focused on the areas of elder law, estate planning, real estate, and municipal law. He drafts wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents to meet his clients’ goals. Mr. Egan has extensive experience with all aspects of Medicaid eligibility rules. He utilizes this experience to assist clients with advanced planning, Medicaid applications, and fair hearings. Mr. Egan handles probate proceedings and advises clients on all aspects of trust administration, including issues pertaining to Special Needs Trusts. He also handles both contested and uncontested guardianship matters.
Mr. Egan serves as attorney for the Town of Clinton, and as special counsel to several other municipalities. He handles tax certiorari matters for both municipalities and petitioners. Mr. Egan represents both purchasers and sellers in real estate transactions and has extensive experience with land use and zoning matters.
Mr. Egan previously worked as inside counsel for the New York Power Authority (NYPA), handling matters associated with the issuance of tax-exempt debt, administrative law proceedings, and land use planning. He is a lifelong resident of Dutchess County.
